Captain America Comics #3 (Timely, 1941) CGC Apparent FN 6.0 Slight (P) Off-white pages. This issue contains a text story written by a very young (19 years old) Stan Lee, which was his very first work in comics. Stan "The Man's" story is wrapped by an equally cool and classic Red Skull/bondage cover by Alex Schomburg. These features have this issue in high demand, in any grade, and this professionally restored, extremely attractive, mid-grade copy presents quite nicely in its holder. Currently issue #3 is tied for the #53 position on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list. Story and art are by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, with Golden Age stalwart Mac Raboy also adding art. CGC notes, "Restoration includes: spine split sealed, cover reinforced. (2 tape stains on centerfold.)". Overstreet 2018 GD 2.0 value = $2,200; VG 4.0 value = $4,400; FN 6.0 value = $6,600.
