About this particular copy, our consignor notes that "We inherited the Captain America #1 upon the death of my mother, Ruth Knutson in 2005. It was originally acquired by my father, Dr. Andie L. Knutson (deceased), a social psychologist and professor at the University of California at Berkeley. In connection with his study and teaching of World War II propaganda in the 1940s, he bought this comic book because of the cover showing Captain America smashing Hitler in the jaw. We found the comic in his files after my mother died." Overstreet 2018 FN 6.0 value = $72,000; VF 8.0 value = $160,000. CGC census 5/19: 9 in 7.0, 14 higher.
