Captain America Comics #1 (Timely, 1941) CGC Apparent NM 9.4 Moderate (P) Off-white pages. Timely/Marvel's second most valuable issue of all (after Marvel Comics #1) has never looked better. This copy's unbelievably fresh-looking, and at this grade, albeit "Apparent", there's only one other copy CGC has ever certified that appears as nice. The issue's realized some extremely impressive auction prices recently for higher grades, whether Universal or Restored. CGC notes, "Restoration includes: color touch, pieces added, reinforced, staples cleaned." What's the hub-bub about the issue, irrespective of condition? First, it's got the origin and first appearance of Captain America and Bucky by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Secondly, there's the first appearance of the Red Skull. And, of course that great Jack Kirby Hitler cover.
