Batman #47 (DC, 1948) CBCS VF+ 8.5 White pages. You have to go back to the very early issues of the title to find a more highly valued issue. This book contains the first detailed origin of Batman, who tracks down his parents' killer and reveals his identity to him. Catwoman puts in an appearance, and the Bat-Signal is featured on a cover for the first time. Creator Bob Kane gets credit for the cover, and he collaborated with Lew Schwartz for most of the interior art. CGC has certified quite a few copies of issue #47, but to date has given a higher grade to only one other copy. Overstreet 2016 VF 8.0 value = $3,950; VF/NM 9.0 value = $6,975. CGC census 8/16: 5 in 8.5, 1 higher.
