    Description

Batman #4 Billy Wright pedigree (DC, 1940) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages. This early issue has very unforgiving red and black surfaces, hence the low number of high-grade copies. Notable events in this issue are the fourth appearance of the Joker (he was in two previous Batmans and one Detective) and the first mention of Gotham City in a Batman comic. Cover art by Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson. Overstreet 2011 VF 8.0 value = $5,920; VF/NM 9.0 value = $10,460. CGC census 2/12: 4 in 8.5, 2 higher.
