Batman #38 (DC, 1946) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages. They don't get much better than this, the highest-graded copy certified by CGC to date. The Penguin returns, and his cover appearance is by Dick Sprang. This issue is noteworthy for the story art by Jim Mooney, which was his first Batman-related work. Overstreet 2020 NM- 9.2 value = $3,000. CGC census 11/20: 2 in 9.6, none higher. From the Alfred Pennyworth Collection.
