Batman #32 Double Cover (DC, 1945) CGC NM 9.4 White pages. Double covers are always a nice find, and when such a book is tied for the highest grade yet assigned, it's the delightful icing on the cake. Not only did Dick Sprang draw the cover, he handled art chores on a Joker story, a time-travel tale, and a recap of Robin's origin. The latter actually deviates from previous accounts, saying that Robin was named after the robin redbreast rather than Robin Hood. CGC notes, "1st cover 8.0, interior cover 9.4." Overstreet 2006 NM- 9.2 value = $1,550. CGC census 3/06: 2 in 9.4, none higher.
