    Description

Batman #1 (DC, 1940) CGC Apparent VG/FN 5.0 Extensive (P) Cream to off-white pages. The Caped Crusader proved so popular in his starring role in Detective Comics, that he soon got his own title, while continuing in Detective Comics for another 900+ issues! In Overstreet's 2019 edition, this issue overtook All-American Comics #16 for the #4 ranking on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics and seems entrenched for the foreseeable future. The issue has a classic cover and interior art by co-creator Bob Kane and his frequent collaborator Jerry Robinson. The highlight, though is the first appearances of the Joker and the Cat (Catwoman). CGC notes, "Restoration includes: color touch, pieces added, tear seals, cleaned, reinforced. Married last page." Overstreet 2019 GD 2.0 value = $55,300; VG 4.0 value = $110,600.
