Batman #1 (DC, 1940) CBCS GD+ 2.5 White pages. Unrestored, complete copies of the premiere issue of Batman just don't come up for auction that often. Over the past five years we've offered Universal copies on just 11 occasions, only three copies of which were graded nicer than FN- 5.5! Over the same period, we've offered restored or incomplete copies 20 times! The book currently ranks #6 on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list, with a bead on Marvel Comics #1, which is currently at #5. Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson provided the classic cover and artwork on the inside which has the first appearances of the Joker and the Cat (later to become Catwoman). CBCS notes, "Centerfold detached." Overstreet 2016 GD 2.0 value = $27,000. CGC census 2/17: 7 in 2.5, 50 higher.
