Description

Amazing-Man Comics #5 (Centaur, 1939) CGC Apparent FN- 5.5 Extensive (P) Cream to off-white pages. Don't let the issue number fool you -- this is actually the first issue of Amazing-Man, featuring the title character's origin and first appearance by Bill Everett. Well-known artists Carl Burgos and Tarpe Mills also contributed to the issue. Centaur Publications' entire output is difficult to find, this book especially so -- Overstreet and Gerber both rate this issue as "rare," with an estimated 11 to 20 copies still in existence. As only one unrestored copy of this book has been graded above GD+ by CGC to date, this restored specimen is obviously one of the better copies available. CGC notes, "Restoration includes: color touch, pieces added, tear seals, cover cleaned, interior lightened, reinforced." Overstreet 2006 GD 2.0 value = $1,389; VG 4.0 value =$2,778; FN 6.0 value = $4,167.

CGC Grader Notes:
Spine Wear
Whole Book Lite Rippling/Warping Through Book
