CGC has expanded its restoration scale to help collectors understand what was done to their book. Among newly added terminology, a letter grade of 'A', 'B', or 'C' is assigned to indicate the quality of the materials used in restoration coupled with the visual quality of the work done. 'A' denotes Excellent, 'B' is Fine, and 'C' is Poor. A quantitative numerical scale of 1-5 is assigned to indicate the extent of the restoration: Slight (1), Slight/Moderate, Moderate, Moderate/Extensive, and Extensive (5), respectively.
