This was the first appearance of Shiera Sanders as Hawkgirl -- the very first costumed super-heroine, a version of whom appears in the upcoming Superman movie. The issue contains a Johnny Thunder text story, and a full-page ad for All Flash #1, while the Howard Purcell cover features the Flash, the Spectre, and Green Lantern. Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Hour-Man, Sandman, the Atom, and Johnny Thunder also make appearances in the issue. Irwin Hasen, Sheldon Moldoff, and Bernard Baily art.
