    Description

Adventure Comics #72 Rockford pedigree (DC, 1942) CGC VF+ 8.5 Cream to off-white pages. Jack Kirby pops up at DC for the very first time in this issue, after breaking historical ground at Timely. It would foretell his five decade predilection of bouncing between the two comic publishing giants (and a lot of lesser-than-giants in between). The King was omnipresent! Three of four confidential sources (Overstreet, CGC, Gerber's The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books) don't tell us who to praise for this great Starman cover, but The Grand Comics Database Project ventures Jack Burnley should be the admired artist. This is a very sharp-looking cover with lots of original color quality to please our oculars. Overstreet 2002 VF 8.0 value = $7,000.
