Description

Adventure Comics #72 (DC, 1942) CGC Apparent VG+ 4.5 Slight (A) Cream to off-white pages. Showing a departure from the humorous covers he did for Superman and Batman titles, Jack Burnley delivered several exciting Starman covers for this title, like this one for instance. This issue is also significant for Simon and Kirby's first Sandman, which just happened to be their first DC artwork. CGC notes, "Restoration includes: small amount of glue on spine of cover." In this case, the "actual" grade is virtually the same as the CGC "Apparent" grade. The cover colors look better than most mid-grades we come across. Overstreet 2003 VG 4.0 value = $2,000. From the Compleat Kirby Comic Collection.
