Adventure Comics #40 Mile High pedigree (DC, 1939) CGC Apparent NM- 9.2 Slight (A) Off-white to white pages. Featuring the first newsstand appearance of the Sandman, Adventure #40 remains one of the most sought-after key issues of the Golden Age. Its rarity is well known--the highest graded unrestored copy is only F/VF 7.0. This copy exhibits a very small amount of color touch and glue on the spine. Many of the Mile Highs have similar touch-up, applied years ago when restoration was a non-issue in the hobby. The application is tiny and invisible through the case; the book is virtually unrestored. There is no doubt that this copy is the finest known. Overstreet 2002 NM 9.4 value = $52,000.00.
