Action Comics #6 (DC, 1938) CGC VF 8.0 White pages. This is one of only two copies currently graded above 7.0, and one of just four graded above 6.0! And this is one of Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics (#42 to be exact). This extremely early Superman adventure (the Man of Tomorrow's sixth appearance) also introduced an unnamed "office boy," who according to Overstreet, as well as DC's own Who's Who, is none other than Jimmy Olsen. And considering that Jimmy later starred in his own comic that ran for twenty years, we'd have to say that it's a pretty important first appearance! We'd be remiss if we didn't note that this may be DC's first-ever gorilla cover -- a theme that the publisher would return to many times in the following years. Hey if it sells... it sells! Leo O'Mealia is the cover artist and Joe Shuster, Bernard Baily, and Fred Guardineer added interior art. Overstreet 2013 VF 8.0 value = $19,283. CGC census 5/14: 2 in 8.0, 1 higher.
