    Action Comics #23 (DC, 1940) CGC FN+ 6.5 Off-white pages. This issue heralded the first appearance of the nefarious super-villain and Supe's primary nemesis, Lex Luthor (who appears with red hair!). It's also the first mention of the Daily Planet. Joe Shuster provided the cover and interior art and Sheldon Moldoff, Bernard Baily, and Fred Guardineer added interior art. CGC notes, "Tape stain on cover." Overstreet 2012 FN 6.0 value = $3,150; VF 8.0 value = $7,980. CGC census 2/13: 4 in 6.5, 6 higher.
