Action Comics #2 Billy Wright pedigree (DC, 1938) CGC VG/FN 5.0 White pages. The second appearance of Superman, this is one of the 15 most valuable comics in the hobby in its own right. Unrestored copies seldom turn up, and when they do they tend to have significant staining or foxing. This copy has only the general wear commensurate with the grade, and the page quality is a major plus. We've only seen half as many of these as we have Action #1s, making this an attractive buy at a tenth of the price (or less) that the #1 is likely to sell for. Obviously Superman didn't make the issue's cover, but this was before DC had caught on to the fact that the Man of Tomorrow was the breakout character. Still, we've seen this elegant illustration by Leo O'Mealia show up on collectors' "all-time favorite covers" lists. Overstreet 2012 VG 4.0 value = $12,940; FN 6.0 value = $19,410. CGC census 5/13: 5 in 5.0, 5 higher.
