Action Comics #12 (DC, 1939) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages. This copy absolutely dominates CGC's census for the issue, which lists only 35 unrestored copies, just six of which have a grade higher than FN 6.0 -- and this is the first copy we've offered topping that score!The mighty super-magician Zatara is the main draw here on Fred Guardineer's cover. Superman is relegated to an inset, but even that is notable as it's just the fourth time he was seen on a comic book cover (after #1, 7, and 10). This issue also features a one-panel ad for Detective Comics #27. Story art is by Guardineer, Joe Shuster, Bernard Baily, and Will Ely. Currently listed on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Overstreet 2024 VF/NM 9.0 value = $52,700; NM- 9.2 value = $75,000. CGC census 10/25: 1 in 9.0, none higher.
