Action Comics #1 (DC, 1938) CBCS PR 0.3 Off-white to white pages. The last time we had a coverless copy of the world's most coveted comic book, it sold for $33,460. Since five years have passed and this copy offers significantly better eye appeal, it will be interesting indeed to see where this one ends up. The first appearance of Superman essentially launched the Golden Age of Comics. Creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster were definitely on to something with this superhero thing! Currently ranked #1 on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list. Note that the CGC census information below does not encompass coverless copies, since that service, unlike CBCS, refers to such books as NG for No Grade. However, the fact that so few copies have been certified as unrestored, despite the high value of the comic, is a good indication of how hard the book is to come by. CBCS notes, "Coverless. First wrap detached." Overstreet 2016 GD 2.0 value = $170,000.
