    Description

Sensation Comics #1 Crowley Copy pedigree (DC, 1942) CGC NM- 9.2 Off-white to white pages. Who said superheroes don't wear skirts? Wonder Woman has been continuously seen in print as part of DC's Big Three (along with Superman and Batman) since her first appearance in a back-up feature from All Star Comics #8. This first issue of her flagship title contained her second appearance, and the key book is ranked #30 on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Books list. Wonder Woman got the starring role in this first issue close on the heels of her introduction in All-Star, and the second half of the character's origin is told here. Also making their debuts were Mr. Terrific and Wildcat, two characters who still appear in comics in the present day. Jon Blummer and H. G. Peter are credited with the cover art. It's is a comic that will always be in demand by serious collectors, and this sterling example is one of the two finest copies known to exist. Overstreet 2009 NM- 9.2 value = $65,000. CGC census 4/10: 1 in 9.2, 1 higher.
