Great Comics #3 Davis Crippen ("D" Copy) pedigree (Great Comics Publications, 1942) CGC GD+ 2.5 Cream to off-white pages. "Futuro Takes Hitler To Hell" has been a sought-after book for years and a must-get in any grade, because nobody who owns one ever seems to want to part with it! A look at the cover will tell you why. Writing in Comic Book Marketplace, Alan Bartholomew named this the best (fictional) anti-Hitler comic of all, and noted that the 15-page story set in hell lives up to the promise of the cover. The identity of the cover artist with the Lou Fine-ish flair has not been conclusively pinned down -- Mr. Bartholomew tells us that his best guess is Chesler-shop stalwart Charles Sultan. Note that the fellow at far right is actually a movie still from "The Lost City," which is adapted in these pages! Note that a small plastic stabilizing peg is loose inside the CGC holder, not affecting the comic itself or the integrity of the holder. Overstreet 2006 GD 2.0 value = $281. CGC census 10/06: 1 in 2.5, 6 higher. From the Crippen Collection.
