Science Comics #1 (Fox, 1940) CGC VF 8.0 Off-white pages. One of only two copies graded above 7.0 by CGC to date. As such, this could be extremely exciting to the Fox fan. The cover art, rather than the characters, is the most notable aspect of this one. "Sex and sadism and a superhero, rendered by the redoubtable Lou Fine," was how Comic Book Marketplace characterized the cover. We will note that the cover character, called Electro here, became Dynamo starting with the next issue, perhaps owing to the Electro, who appears in Marvel Mystery #4 which appeared the same month. In case you're wondering, the slight coloring error on the S in Comics appears on every copy of this issue. CGC notes, "Minor amount of glue on spine of cover." Overstreet 2016 VF 8.0 value = $4,146. CGC census 8/16: 2 in 8.0, none higher.
