Sad Sack Comics #1 File Copy (Harvey, 1949) CGC NM 9.4 Cream to off-white pages. This amazing copy has occupied the top spot in the CGC census for this book for the past eight years. Harvey fans will go to great lengths to get this issue because it contains the first appearance of Little Dot, who would go on to star in her own comic for more than 20 years. Sad Sack topped Dot when it came to longevity, as this series produced Harvey's longest continuous comic book title run -- 287 issues! One reason this first issue is hard to find is because it featured Sad Sack as a civilian, an unwelcome change at the time to fans who loved his adventures as a soldier and were loath to spend their dimes to see him out of uniform. The brilliant infinity cover is by George Baker. Overstreet 2014 NM- 9.2 value = $3,300. CGC census 8/14: 1 in 9.4, none higher.
