Description

Young Love #2 Mile High pedigree (Prize, 1949) Condition: NM. This series was the creation of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, who invented the genre with Young Romance, and this issue has 12 pages of art by S&K on the cover story with the immortal title "I Was Too Proud To Be A Taxi-Dancer, And Too Wise For Romance." Studio hands like John Belfi and Vic Donahue handled the rest of the art. These early issues are tough to find no matter what the grade! The only CGC-certified copy as of this writing (VF 8.0) sold for multiples of Guide in a recent Heritage auction, and we expect a similar result for this Edgar Church copy. Overstreet 2006 NM- 9.2 value = $285.From the John McLaughlin Collection.
