Phantom Lady #17 (Fox Features Syndicate, 1948) CGC VG+ 4.5 Pink pages. This is quite possibly the most famous Matt Baker cover, and it's certainly one of the most infamous, and sexiest covers to ever grace a comic book. The issue was mentioned in the book Seduction of the Innocent, with author Fredric Wertham noting "Sexual stimulation by combining 'headlights' with the sadist's dream of tying up a woman." The CGC holders "pink pages" notation refers to the fact that in an effort to save a few bucks, Fox printed several of their comics on pink paper (which they apparently got quite a deal on) back in 1948. Every single copy of this issue that we've ever auctioned has sold for considerably higher than the Overstreet Guide value, and we expect no less from this copy of the issue that listed in Overstreet's of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Overstreet 2020 VG 4.0 value = $3,900. CGC census 6/21: 9 in 4.5, 51 higher.
