Description

Real Life Comics #3 (Nedor Publications, 1942) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white to white pages. Better/Nedor's foray into the non-fiction genre doesn't get enough attention. But if one issue presents an argument to recognize this title, it's this outrageous issue from 1941. The "Emperor of Hate" is emblazoned in blood below the title, just above a cover-dominating drawing of Hitler, who holds a skull in one hand, a smoking gun in the other, and stands Colossus-like over a globe wracked by war. Schomburg's moving cover includes scenes from concentration camps, panzers ravaging the countryside, and Nazi soldiers killing civilians. A ten-page biography of Der Fuehrer is inside. And, this was on the newsstands just as Pearl Harbor was attacked, before the U.S.A. entered WWII. Collectors who know of this issue know how difficult it is to find. This copy misses by just a quarter-grade being the finest issue #3 that CGC has yet certified. This issue is destined for continued demand and increasing value. Overstreet 2002 FN 6.0 value = $204; VF 8.0 value = $426.
