    Description

Marvel Tales #93 (Atlas, 1949) Condition: VF-. The first issue of this series continued the numbering from the legendary Marvel Mystery Comics, whose superhero format was junked in favor of horror tales. The first few issues of Tales don't seem to turn up often (this is the first time we've offered #93), and when you do see one, it's usually low-grade. Not so with this VF- copy; it couldn't be slabbed because of an overhang, but since the highest-graded slabbed copy to date is a VF- 7.5, this one is obviously among the best available. This copy's page quality is an appealing off-white. For collectors of such things, we'll note that there's a Captain Tootsie ad with C. C. Beck art in the issue. Overstreet 2005 VF 8.0 value = $913.
