Marvel Mystery Comics #13 (Timely, 1940) CGC VF+ 8.5 Cream to off-white pages. This is the very first appearance of the Vision, by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, and to date, only three copies have been gifted with higher grades by CGC. Inside the book, the Sub-Mariner dons a new costume, and on the back cover there is an ad for Human Torch #1. Alex Schomburg drew the exciting "United States Gold Vault heist" cover, with the Human Torch getting in on the crime-busting action. Bill Everett, Bob Oksner, and Carl Burgos contributed interior art. In our 20 years of comic auctions, we have only seen one nicer copy. CGC notes, "Very minor amount of color touch on cover." Overstreet 2020 VF 8.0 value = $6,709; VF/NM 9.0 value = $11,855. CGC census 6/21: 1 in 8.5, 3 higher.
