DescriptionMad #16 (E.C. Comics, 1954). 10/1954 - Harvey Kurtzman cover. This comic hit the stands during the onset of the censorship of comics by the Senate as a result of Dr. Fredric Wertham. This comic has what might just be the only cover appearance of Bill Gaines on one of his own publications. The cover blurbs are blatant jabs at the censorship that was going on in the day. Will Elder and Wally Wood, provide story art for this issue. 2016 Overstreet Price Guide value is $220.00.
Page Quality: Off-white to white
Artists/Writers: Harvey Kurtzman story and cover "Wally Wood, Bill Elder & Jack Davis art"

CGC census 7/19: 7 in 7.0, 37 higher.
