    Description

Jungle Comics #1 (Fiction House, 1940) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white pages. This Golden Age key is noted for a number of important things: the origin and first appearances of Kaanga, Tabu, Wambi, and White Panther; the wonderful and colorful Lou Fine cover, and the beginning of a series that would last 163 issues and 14+ years. But here's one more little fact for you: Fawcett's Captain Marvel lost out on being called Captain Thunder due to a feature in this issue -- Captain Terry Thunder! As such, comics history would be forever changed! This most-attractive copy is topped by only one other in CGC's current census report. Overstreet 2003 FN 6.0 value = $1,332; VF 8.0 value = $3,000.
