Pep Comics #23 (MLJ, 1942) CGC FN/VF 7.0 White pages. Featuring the second appearance of that singular teen, Archie Andrews, this issue is even more rare than Pep Comics #22; in fact, this is only the fourth copy we've seen. The classic Nazi/Statue of Liberty cover is by Irv Novick, while the Archie story features art by Bob Montana. Note the white pages on this attractive copy. This is the nicest copy we've seen, and to date CGC has certified only one other with a higher grade. Overstreet 2017 FN 6.0 value = $6,000; VF 8.0 value = $12,000. CGC census 2/18: 2 in 7.0, 1 higher. From the Steve Barghusen Collection.
