Peanuts #1 (United Features Syndicate, 1953) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages. This is an early comic appearance and the very first comic book devoted entirely to Charles Schulz's Peanuts characters, and with the demand for Peanuts strips and original art at a near peak, don't expect to pick this "top-of-the-census" copy up for "5¢... everything can't be 5¢!" or even for the Overstreet NM- 9.2 price ($1,500) -- a 7.0 copy that we sold last year went for $4,780! A great cover wraps this "only issue of the title" by UFS. Not only is it a great cover, but it's in great shape too... in fact, it's currently the highest CGC-graded copy, with the next closest being that 7.0 copy! Charles Schulz reprints inside. Overstreet 2013 VF 8.0 value = $621; VF/NM 9.0 value = $1,061. CGC census 11/13: 1 in 8.5, none higher.
