Description

Our Gang Comics #1 (Dell, 1942) CGC NM 9.4 White pages. Not only is this the top-graded copy, it beats the second highest-graded copy by a wide margin -- in fact we had never seen a copy above VF+ before this one graced our auction. It contains the first comic appearances of Our Gang, Tom and Jerry, Barney Bear, Pete Smith, Flip and Dip, and the Milky Way. Walt Kelly art. There is a photo back cover of the Our Gang kids. The colors are exceptionally bright on this issue. And the spine? Remarkably sharp! This has all the hallmarks of a Mile High book or one of the top pedigrees, without any distributor markings marring the front cover. There is a small fleck of dust sitting in the CGC holder outside of the book well, near the bottom left of the front cover that does not affect the book. Overstreet 2013 NM- 9.2 value = $1,800. CGC census 5/14: 1 in 9.4, none higher.

CGC Grader Notes:
