Mad #1-23 and Three Dimensional EC Classics #1 Bound Volume (EC, 1952-54). This is a rarity among the various bound volumes we've offered in the past: the first 23 issues of Mad -- the entirety of the comic book-format issues -- trimmed and bound into in a single hardcover volume. Includes the classic "Superduperman" parody, the hard-to-find issue #5, Alfred E. Neuman's first cover appearance, and more. Unlike a similar volume we offered last summer, the contents of this one also include a copy of Three Dimensional EC Comics #1 (with 3-D glasses included); and the collection is inscribed "To Bruce Hamilton (A real swell guy but he should have stayed with radio announcing) Good luck from H. Kurtzman" on the front flyleaf. Art by the usual gang of idiots -- Kurtzman, Wally Wood, Jack Davis, Bill Elder, Basil Wolverton, and others. The comics are in very nice condition with gorgeous glossy covers, supple cream to off-white pages, mild wear, and some tanning to the inside covers. Overstreet 2010 VG 4.0 value for group = $3,608.
