Crackajack Funnies #1 Mile High pedigree (Dell, 1938) CGC NM/MT 9.8 White pages. Here is a truly amazing book. It is a first issue of a long-running series, dating all the way back to 1938, and is in the most unbelievable condition. To say that this is the best existing copy is a vast understatement. This premiere issue is the beginning of several long running series, including Don Winslow, Tom Mix, Buck Jones, Major Hoople, Dan Dunn, Freckles, Myra North and Wash Tubbs, plus many more. It is very obvious that this copy has never been read or handled, and obviously very carefully stored. This is one of the very nicest of all the Mile High books, and that's saying a lot. It has been extremely well preserved, and CGC has noted it as having straight white pages. All four corners are perfectly square and sharp, the colors are brilliant, and it is perfectly clean. Overstreet 2002 NM 9.4 value = $2,700.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
