Archie Comics #2 (Archie, 1943) CGC VF 8.0 Off-white to white pages. This isn't just the only copy graded above 6.5, it's one of only two graded higher than 3.0! It's just the second copy we've offered in our ten years of auctioning comics, and we certainly agree with Overstreet's "scarce" designation. That also makes the value hard to pin down -- we saw the highest-graded copy of #1 fetch quintuple Guide at Heritage last year, underscoring how hard these first few issues are to find in high grade. There's no smudge or dust shadow of any kind on this attractive book. Overstreet 2011 VF 8.0 value = $4,146. CGC census 4/12: 1 in 8.0, none higher.
