Archie Comics #1 (Archie, 1942) CGC GD/VG 3.0 Cream to off-white pages. A treat in any grade, this is the very first issue of that freckle-faced, red-headed teen from Riverdale, Archie Andrews. Every copy of this book that we've auctioned has met more than the Overstreet value, and we expect no less here. A tough book, and demand is high. Considered by Overstreet to be the first teen comic, Archie's previous appearances were in Pep and Jackpot. Archie hadn't been the sole cover feature of a comic previously. This issue established the Archie-Veronica relationship, presenting a revision of their first meeting. This is also the first appearance of Mrs. Andrews, Archie's mom. Bob Montana gave us the classic ice-skating cover and interior art. Currently this book is tied for the #15 position on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list.
