    Description

Archie Comics #1 (Archie, 1942) CGC GD 2.0 Cream to off-white pages. We think the eye appeal of this one will surpass your expectations for a 2.0 book. In recent years this issue has finally gotten its due, cracking the top 20 of Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list. Every single unrestored copy we've ever sold has gone for well over Guide, so be prepared to bid aggressively on this one!
This is considered the first teen comic by Overstreet, and the cover is arguably the most recognizable image of any Archie cover. It's the start of a series that is still going in the present day, and there are fewer and fewer series you can say that about! The issue has what you might call the "origin" of Veronica, or at least of her relationship with Archie. It also has the very first appearance of Mrs. Andrews, Archie's mother. Bob Montana cover and art. CGC notes, "Tape on cover, interior cover & interior." Overstreet 2013 GD 2.0 value = $6,333. CGC census 5/14: 2 in 2.0, 24 higher.
