Ace Comics #1 Mile High pedigree (David McKay Publications, 1937) CGC Apparent VF- 7.5 Slight (A) Off-white to white pages. Talk about historically significant! Just the fact this title debuted in early 1937 and ran for 151 issues makes it a heavy hitter among the pre-Golden Age and true Golden Age titles alike. How about the first appearances of Jungle Jim, Blondie, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Krazy Kat...recognize any of those? A relative anomaly among Mile Highs, this one has had some restoration, albeit "slight," according to CGC, who further notes, "Restoration includes: color touch, tear seals, spine split sealed." Still, the book is a Mile High with Mile High pages, y' know? Overstreet 2002 VF 8.0 value = $1,979.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
