    Description

Atlas Comics Golden Age Horror Group (Atlas, 1952-57) Condition: Average GD. This group of horror titles by Atlas is three-hole punched and inserted into a ring binder. The group includes Astonishing #53 (Steve Ditko art); Journey into Mystery #45 (Bill Everett and Joe Orlando art); Mystery Tales #17 (Dave Berg and Russ Heath art); Strange Tales #52 (Everett and Orlando art) and 58 (Everett and Al Williamson art); World of Fantasy #6 (Everett cover; Berg and Bob Powell art); and Young Men on the Battlefield #14 (War format; Berg, Sol Brodsky, Gene Colan, Heath, and Mac Pakula art). They appear to be file copies of Dave Berg who worked for Atlas in the 40's and went on to earn greater recognition as a staple artist for Mad in the 50's and 60's. All have paper clip impression in the upper right hand corner of the books and some have red pencil notes. These comics would receive a much higher grade were it not for the hole punches. They have nice cover gloss and supple pages. Approximate Overstreet value for group = $272.
