    Description

Famous Funnies Bound Volumes (Eastern Color, 1940-43). These are file copies of Famous Funnies #73-84 and 97-108 that have been trimmed and bound into a pair of hardcover volumes. Highlights include the origin and first appearance of Scarlet O'Neil, the first 100th issue of any comic book, a classic Chief Wahoo vs. Hitler, Tojo, and Mussolini cover, and some art by Jack Kirby. The covers of the volumes show heavy wear that includes soiling, moisture damage, and separations at the spines; otherwise, the comics are in very nice condition with bright, glossy covers with the occasional faint dust shadow, supple pages, and mild tanning. Some Overstreet 2011 VG 4.0 value for comics = $1,075.
