    Description

Detective Comics #82 (DC, 1943) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages. By far the nicest copy we've seen of this issue, this one is near the top of CGC's census as well. In the issue, Batman and Robin take on "The Quarterback of Crime," whose gimmick is to apply football tactics to his gang's villainy. As you can see on the Bob Kane/Jerry Robinson cover, the Caped Crusader responds in kind (no thanks to Robin, who lines up on the wrong side of the kicker)! Joining the huddle are Simon and Kirby, who drew the Boy Commandos feature. Overstreet 2006 VF 8.0 value = $581; VF/NM 9.0 value = $916. CGC census 2/06: 1 in 8.5, 3 higher. From the Collection of Harold Curtis.
