    Detective Comics #31 (DC, 1939) CGC Apparent VF+ 8.5 Moderate (P) Off-white pages. This highly coveted issue, just the fourth appearance of the Batman, includes the first appearances of the Batplane, the Batarang, Julie Madison, and Batman's first super-powered foe, the Monk. The classic Bob Kane cover has been swiped by other artists and titles many times in the past. The Slam Bradley story is by Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Issue #31 is currently tied for the #10 spot on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. CGC notes, "Restoration includes: color touch, pieces added, tear seals, spine splits sealed, cleaned, reinforced." Overstreet 2020 GD 2.0 value = $32,500; VG 4.0 value = $65,000; FN 6.0 value = $97,500; VF 8.0 value = $182,000.
