    Description

True Crime Comics #9 (Canadian Edition; Alval Publishing, 1949). This is the tough-to-find Canadian reprint of True Crime Comics Vol. 2 #1 that replicates the contents of the American edition, except for a three-page Wally Wood story. That still leaves outstanding interior artwork by Jack Cole and Alex Toth! A "dragging living people to death" panel was cited in Wertham's Seduction of the Innocent. The epitome of pre-code-crime comics! This is an excellent copy with a small chip out of the top of the spine, a slightly blunted corner at the bottom of spine, and very minor chipping along the top edge of the cover. Otherwise, a very fresh-looking book with exceptionally clear printing and vivid color. CGC VF 8.0 Cream to off-white pages. Overstreet 2001 FN 6.0 value (American edition) = $245; NM 9.4 value = $775.
