Description

Punch Comics #12 (Chesler, 1945) CGC VF- 7.5 White pages. This is it, one of the most intense skull covers ever produced during the Golden Age of comics! The classic cover has a black background, making it very difficult to find in high grade, and in fact, this is the highest-graded copy that we have ever seen, with only one other copy topping it on CGC's current census! A truly stunning example, and one of the best covers in the run, this issue of Punch also boasts the highest value of the title. Over time, Chesler covers began to take on a strange, twisting form, mixing crime with horror. As a result, they have proven to be very popular with collectors. Overstreet 2015 VF 8.0 value = $6,600. CGC census 8/15: 1 in 7.5, 1 higher. From the Calvin Slobodian Collection.
