Detective Comics #12 Mile High pedigree (DC, 1938) CGC NM 9.4 Off-white to white pages. This is the only copy of this issue graded above 7.0 by CGC to date! And this is a book that's very difficult to find in any grade, in fact this is just the third different copy we've ever auctioned. Creig Flessel's early Detective covers were never quite equaled in the crime genre -- here's a typically moody study of an anonymous denizen of the underworld. In these pre-Batman days, the series starred sleuths like Slam Bradley and "Bart Regan, Spy" (both features written by Jerry Siegel and drawn by Joe Shuster), plus Speed Saunders (drawn by Flessel). We've got a lot of great Golden Age books on these pages, but this one would have to rank among the best! Overstreet 2009 NM- 9.2 value = $5,600.
