Crime Does Not Pay #26 (Lev Gleason, 1943) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white to white pages. A mere two copies of this issue have been certified by CGC as of this writing, and this is one to snap up, because it's got everything that fans of this title look for. It's an early issue (the fifth to be exact), Mr. Crime appears on the cover, and one of the featured villains is a mobster everybody knows, namely Lucky Luciano. And we mustn't forget a typically hard-hitting Charles Biro cover illustration featuring what's known in the biz as an injury-to-eye motif. Overstreet 2006 FN 6.0 value = $183; VF 8.0 value = $381. CGC census 3/06: 1 in 7.0, 1 higher. From the Collection of Harold Curtis.
