    Description

Cover Proof/Color Separations for Black Cat Mystery #48, Artwork by Lee Elias (Harvey, 1953). Death rises from the choppy waters of the ocean in this superb pre-Code horror cover by Lee Elias. This lot includes seven printed pages: a full-color cover proof, proofs of the black plate (line art with no color), and the complete color plate (all colors with no black line art), plus the four color separation pages (C, M, Y, and K), all printed on white paper. All these pages have been stapled together along with a cover sheet from the Koppel Photo-Engraving Company, who obviously did all of Harvey's printing at that time. Condition overall is excellent, with some creasing in the top right corner and general edge wear. Please note that this does not include a copy of the comic, only the pages as listed here, and there is no original art in this lot. 8.5" x 14".
