    Captain America Comics #3 Eldon Pedigree (Timely, 1941) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Cream to off-white pages. The prices for this book have exploded in the last several years, far exceeding any Overstreet prices -- in fact, in 2014 a 7.0 copy sold for a hefty $17,350, and in 2018 the same book auctioned for $55,049! That's a 217% increase in just four years! A young Stan Lee wrote a story for this issue, which was his first comic book work ever, and comicdom was never the same! The book has a classic Red Skull, bondage cover by Golden Age great Alex Schomburg. This issues is currently tied for the #52 spot on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list. Story and art by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. If you've been collecting Golden Age for any length of time you've no doubt seen copies with "Eldon" written on the cover, from what must have been an enormous collection. CGC recently began officially recognizing the collection as a pedigree. CGC notes, "Centerfold detached." Overstreet 2019 FN 6.0 value = $7,800; VF 8.0 value = $19,500. CGC census 7/20: 3 in 7.0, 10 higher.
